Coachella 2010 – Will you be there?

Tons of music fans, or as LA Times calls them—“iPod aesthetes,” awoke yesterday morning eager and excited to see one thing and one thing only: this year’s Coachella lineup.

After a quick glance at my Facebook newsfeed, it seemed obvious to me that many of my peers were pleased with the lineup. With headliners Jay-Z, Muse, and Gorillaz, many are already looking in to buying passes and purchasing campsites for the big weekend that is three months away.

The eleventh edition of the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival will take place this April 16-18 at the Empire Polo Fields in Indio, California, in the Inland Empire’s Coachella Valley.

I’m not going to lie, I’ve never been to Coachella, I don’t know anything about music, and I don’t like the desert, but this year’s lineup makes me want to join in on the drunken, drug-induced weekend of hot, hot fun. Being the ignorant, narrow-minded 90.3/93.3 radio listener that I am, I was impressed to see Jay-Z at the head of Friday’s roster, but it seems that many avid Coachella-goers have mixed feelings about this rap patriarch headlining their highly anticipated festival. Some angry bloggers feel that he is far too mainstream for Coachella, while others can hardly contain their excitement. But as the old adage goes, to each his own…

So if you’ve never been to Coachella, check out this video clip from last year’s festival and you might want to start buying your tickets…

Tickets go on sale this Friday and you can purchase them here. Don’t miss out on the once-a-year madness, because—from what I’ve heard—it will definitely be a weekend you’ll never forget!

San Diego, let us know–will you be rockin’ out at Coachella this year? And how do you feel about 2010′s lineup?

This was the lamest write up. Drunken, drug-induced weekend? Sounds like PB, which is far from it. You are writing about something you’ve never been too. Who thought that was a good idea?

Thx 4 using my pic taken during the Pink Floyd concert (they played the whole “Dark Side of the Moon”), the helium-filled pig had “Obama” written on it’s underside. U won’t see many (or any) ppl smoking pot, selling drugs or drunk there and I’m not happy about the line-up . . . I’m not going this year.

Ive been to Coachella 3 years and camped 2 years and the drug and drunkeness is very obvious in the camping area but not so much the festival although I do light up some bud in the venue and have ever really had a problem

its funny in the camping area cause by sunday you see all the people with nose bleeds after a crazy weekend… got my tix already and I cant wait!!
