Book Review: Tina Fey’s “Bossypants”

Book Review: Tina Fey’s “Bossypants”

January 25, 2012 · Comments Off

Popular comedic actress and writer Tina Fey seems to be capable of anything, as she can now add “author” to her long list of accomplishments. Bossy Pants, which came out mid 2011, chronicles the writer’s journey from awkward childhood into even more awkward adulthood, documenting the struggles that accompany anyone breaking into show business along the way. Fey is sarcastic and self-deprecating as she tells her life story, but in such a way that shows she truly is a confident woman unafraid to poke fun at herself. Willing to discuss everything from acne to bowel movements, Fey...

Twining’s Take on the week in sports: Hot topics in the sports world for those too busy shopping.

If you watched Saturday Night Live this past weekend, hosted by Jimmy Fallon, then you most likely saw the skit where Jimmy gets the band back together for a wonderful rendition of “I wish it was Christmas today.” Something about the sight of Horatio Sanz, Chris Kattan and Tracy Morgan joining Fallon onstage brought me great joy. Christmas is only a few days away and since it’s Wednesday and I haven’t written a column in a while, I wanted to bring you some Christmas cheer by offering my insights on the hot sports topics of the past week (or so). My reasoning for kicking...

This tattoo marks another in her reportedly 15 tattoos, including a gun on her ribcage, stars down the back of her neck, and words “rebelle fleur” (French, meaning rebellious flower). Movie Review: Haywire

Last year “Drive” showed the great divide between the film critics and general audience.  The critics gave rave reviews while it didn’t receive much love from the audience.  This year we have “Haywire.” Gina Carano may be more of a female Jason Bourne than James Bond, but this is not...
